Meet HenK

Henk consulting is a cooperation between Hendrik, a marketing scientist and Katrien, an agile transformation and change expert both putting their Heart and Knowledge on the table. 

Hendrik is associate professor of marketing at Ghent University.  The behavioral science approach is the guiding principle of both his academic and professional experience. Hendrik joined henk consulting to combine his academic research with a business environment.

Katrien has 20+ experience mainly in leading people through transformation and change. Since 2018 she embraced the agile way of working as a mean to unlock the power of people and become more resilient as a company. She founded Henk Consulting to help leaders to create the right context for their people and let them shine.

Our 20+ years of professional experience in transformation and change has learned us that people make the difference (even in this digital era) and that context is a key differentiator to tap into this human potential.

Our core beliefs

  • PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE and investment in the human capital pays off: In her 20+ professional career, Katrien has seen teams with the right mix of talent, motivation and collaboration deliver breakthrough results, and conversely watched well-designed transformations stumble when too little was invested in the human side of change. Gallup's State of the Global Workplace 2025 report confirms it: € 8,2 trillion in productivity could be added to the economy (or 9+ increase of global GDP) if the global workforce was fully engaged.
  • CONTEXT MATTERS ALWAYS: Context influences how we judge, make decisions and form relationships. Again from experience, Katrien noticed how the same person in a different team flourished and performance improved significantly. When a flower does not bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower, right?
  • WHAT PEOPLE DO OR SAY (=Behaviors) CAN BE INFLUENCED: Behavior is context-dependent — it can be modified through specific interventions like feedback, cues, habits, and repeated practice. It's like teaching a child to ride a bike.

We use behavioral science and consumer marketing techniques and tools to move and engage people around the company's ambitions! If it works for Google and Apple, why not for you?

Example: A telecom company is suffering from the newcomers in the market, to maintain market share they need sales staff to become more proactive. We deployed internal activation campaigns, inspired by consumer marketing, with storytelling, gamification and peer-to-peer learning to encourage the desired behavior.

Our approach and techniques are based on scientific research translated in pragmatic tools

Working with behaviors has as advantage that it is observable and as such easier to influence.  Measuring the impact of what we do is a standard step in our approach. We give you a clear view on the benefits (ROI) of the investment in your human capital.
